Description
Agapanthus Torbay
Agapanthus Torbay is a beautiful deciduous Agapanthus that produces rounded umbels of elegant sky-blue flowers on upright stems above broad dark green foliage. Flowering from mid to late summer, this compact clump-forming perennial brings colour, structure and architectural interest to borders, patio containers and mixed planting schemes. Growing to approximately 60–75cm in height, it is an excellent choice for gardens of all sizes.
Agapanthus Torbay Features
During summer, Agapanthus Torbay produces attractive rounded heads of sky-blue flowers that rise gracefully above the foliage. Furthermore, the blooms create a striking contrast against the broad dark green leaves. As a result, this variety makes an eye-catching addition to both contemporary and traditional garden designs.
The nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects throughout the flowering season. Additionally, the long-lasting blooms make excellent cut flowers for indoor arrangements. Consequently, this variety offers both ornamental and wildlife-friendly value.
Growing Agapanthus Torbay
For best results, plant Agapanthus Torbay in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. It performs exceptionally well in borders, gravel gardens and patio containers. Moreover, once established, it is relatively drought tolerant and easy to maintain.
As a deciduous variety, the foliage dies back in autumn before fresh new growth emerges in spring. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and tidy old foliage in late winter. Therefore, it remains a simple and rewarding perennial for gardeners of all experience levels.
