Agapanthus Allisio – Compact Blue African Lily

Agapanthus Allisio is a charming compact African Lily that produces attractive rounded heads of rich blue flowers throughout the summer months. Held on sturdy upright stems above neat clumps of fresh green strap-like foliage, the blooms create a colourful and elegant display in borders, containers and mixed perennial planting schemes. Its compact habit makes it particularly suitable for smaller gardens and patio displays where space is at a premium.

Growing to approximately 40–60cm in height, Agapanthus Allisio offers excellent garden performance while maintaining a tidy, manageable shape. Furthermore, the long-lasting flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects, helping to support garden wildlife. Growing Agapanthus Allisio

Agapanthus Allisio thrives in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun encourages abundant flowering and helps develop the richest flower colour. Additionally, plants perform exceptionally well in containers where slight root restriction often encourages even more prolific flowering. Regular watering during prolonged dry periods will help maintain healthy growth and maximise flowering performance.

Remove spent flower stems once flowering has finished to keep plants looking their best. Furthermore, tidy away any old or damaged foliage as required. A sheltered position with good drainage will help ensure reliable growth and flowering year after year.
