Description
Agapanthus Profusion
Agapanthus Profusion is a superb evergreen Agapanthus renowned for its masses of rich blue flower heads produced continuously throughout the summer months. As its name suggests, this free-flowering variety delivers an abundance of blooms above attractive clumps of evergreen strap-shaped foliage, creating a spectacular display in borders, patio containers and mixed planting schemes. Its long flowering season and reliable performance make it an excellent choice for gardens of all sizes.
Agapanthus Profusion Features
Throughout the flowering season, Agapanthus Profusion produces numerous rounded clusters of vibrant blue flowers carried on strong upright stems. Furthermore, the prolific blooms are held well above the foliage, creating a striking display of colour and structure. As a result, this variety provides exceptional visual impact from mid-summer well into autumn.
The evergreen foliage remains attractive throughout the year, adding texture and architectural interest even when not in flower. Additionally, the nectar-rich blooms attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinating insects. Consequently, Agapanthus Profusion offers both ornamental beauty and valuable wildlife benefits.
Growing Agapanthus Profusion
For best results, plant Agapanthus Profusion in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. It performs exceptionally well in borders, raised beds and large patio containers. Moreover, regular watering during dry spells and occasional feeding will encourage vigorous growth and abundant flowering.
As an evergreen variety, the foliage provides year-round garden interest. However, container-grown plants may benefit from winter protection during periods of severe frost. Once established, this variety is easy to maintain and rewards gardeners with reliable flowering year after year.
