Agapanthus Adelaide – Evergreen Light Blue African Lily
Agapanthus Adelaide is a beautiful evergreen African Lily valued for its elegant light mid-blue flower heads and free-flowering nature. Large rounded clusters of blooms are carried on sturdy stems above clumps of lush green narrow strap-like foliage, creating a striking display from late summer into early autumn. Its distinctive flower colour and reliable performance make it a popular choice for borders, patio containers and architectural planting schemes.
Growing to approximately 70cm in height, Agapanthus Adelaide combines compact growth with excellent flowering performance. Growing Agapanthus Adelaide
Agapanthus Adelaide thrives in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun encourages the best flowering performance and helps develop strong flower stems. Additionally, container-grown plants perform exceptionally well and often flower more freely when slightly root restricted. Good drainage is essential, particularly during the winter months.
As an evergreen variety, the foliage remains attractive throughout the year. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and tidy away any damaged leaves in spring. Furthermore, evergreen Agapanthus benefit from protection during periods of severe frost, especially when grown in containers or exposed locations.
