Description
Agapanthus New Castle
Agapanthus New Castle is a superb deciduous Agapanthus producing rounded heads of medium light blue flowers above attractive green strap-shaped foliage. Flowering abundantly throughout summer, this elegant variety adds height, colour and architectural interest to borders, patio containers and mixed perennial planting schemes. Its soft blue blooms and dependable garden performance make it an excellent choice for creating a long-lasting display in sunny gardens.
Agapanthus New Castle Features
Throughout the flowering season, Agapanthus New Castle produces impressive clusters of medium light blue flowers carried on strong upright stems. Furthermore, the delicately coloured blooms stand proudly above the foliage, creating a fresh and eye-catching display. As a result, this variety complements both traditional cottage gardens and contemporary planting schemes.
The nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects throughout summer. Additionally, the long-lasting blooms make excellent cut flowers for indoor arrangements. Consequently, Agapanthus New Castle offers both ornamental beauty and valuable wildlife benefits.
Growing Agapanthus New Castle
For best results, plant Agapanthus New Castle in a sunny position with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. It performs exceptionally well in borders, raised beds and large patio containers. Moreover, regular watering during dry periods will encourage healthy growth and abundant flowering.
As a deciduous variety, the foliage dies back naturally in autumn before fresh growth emerges in spring. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and tidy old foliage in late winter. Therefore, it remains easy to grow and maintain, rewarding gardeners with reliable flowering year after year.
