Description
Agapanthus Gold Strike
Agapanthus Gold Strike is a striking evergreen Agapanthus valued for its attractive variegated foliage and beautiful blue flowers. The arching strap-shaped leaves feature distinctive golden-yellow margins that provide year-round interest, while elegant rounded flower heads rise above the foliage throughout summer. This eye-catching variety is ideal for borders, patio containers and feature plantings where both foliage and flowers can be appreciated.
Agapanthus Gold Strike Features
Throughout the flowering season, Agapanthus Gold Strike produces attractive clusters of rich blue flowers carried on strong upright stems. Furthermore, the colourful blooms contrast beautifully against the variegated foliage, creating a bold and elegant display. As a result, this variety offers exceptional ornamental value even when not in flower.
The golden-edged evergreen foliage provides structure, texture and colour throughout the year. Additionally, the nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects during summer. Consequently, Agapanthus Gold Strike delivers both ornamental beauty and valuable wildlife benefits.
Growing Agapanthus Gold Strike
For best results, plant Agapanthus Gold Strike in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. It performs exceptionally well in borders, raised beds and decorative patio containers. Moreover, regular watering during dry periods will encourage healthy growth and prolific flowering.
As an evergreen variety, the attractive variegated foliage remains throughout the year, providing valuable garden interest during every season. Container-grown plants may benefit from winter protection during severe frosts. Once established, this variety is easy to maintain and flowers reliably year after year.
