Description
Agapanthus Dwarf Blue
Agapanthus Dwarf Blue is a compact deciduous African Lily producing attractive rounded heads of rich blue flowers above neat clumps of green strap-like foliage. Flowering throughout summer, this dwarf variety is ideal for smaller gardens, patio containers, edging schemes and sunny borders where reliable colour is required without taking up excessive space.
Why Choose Agapanthus Dwarf Blue?
This compact variety offers all the beauty of larger agapanthus cultivars in a smaller, more manageable form. The vibrant blue flower heads provide excellent garden impact while the tidy growth habit makes it particularly useful for containers and front-of-border planting. Its long flowering season and easy-care nature make it a popular choice for gardeners of all experience levels.
Growing Agapanthus Dwarf Blue
For best results, plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Regular watering during establishment will encourage strong root development and healthy growth. Once established, plants become relatively drought tolerant and continue to flower reliably year after year. Good drainage is essential, particularly during winter months.
Perfect for Borders and Containers
The compact habit makes this variety perfect for patio pots, window boxes, courtyard gardens and the front of sunny borders. The rich blue blooms combine beautifully with lavender, salvias, heucheras and ornamental grasses, creating colourful displays throughout the summer months.
Care and Maintenance
Remove spent flower stems after flowering to maintain a tidy appearance and encourage healthy growth. Apply a balanced fertiliser in spring to support vigorous foliage and abundant blooms. With minimal maintenance, this hardy perennial will provide years of dependable garden performance.
