Description
Agapanthus Bluestorm – Evergreen African Lily
Agapanthus Bluestorm is a striking evergreen African Lily producing large rounded flower heads packed with vibrant blue blooms throughout the summer months. Held on sturdy upright stems above neat clumps of evergreen strap-like foliage, the flowers create a bold display of colour and structure that brightens borders, patio containers and mixed planting schemes. Its rich blue flowers provide excellent contrast against the glossy green foliage, making it a standout feature in any sunny garden.
Growing to approximately 60–80cm in height, Agapanthus Bluestorm combines a compact habit with impressive flowering performance. The attractive flower heads rise above the foliage, attracting bees and other beneficial pollinators while providing weeks of long-lasting seasonal interest. Its manageable size makes it particularly suitable for smaller gardens, container displays and planting towards the front or middle of borders.

Growing Agapanthus Bluestorm
Agapanthus Bluestorm thrives in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun encourages abundant flowering and helps develop the richest flower colour. Once established, plants are relatively drought tolerant, although regular watering during prolonged dry periods will encourage the best floral display.
As an evergreen variety, the attractive foliage remains an important garden feature throughout the year. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and tidy away any damaged leaves in spring. Container-grown plants perform exceptionally well and can be positioned on patios and terraces where the flowers can be appreciated at close range. In colder areas, provide winter protection during periods of severe frost, particularly for container-grown plants.
