Growing Agapanthus Blue Heaven
Agapanthus Blue Heaven thrives in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun encourages abundant flowering and helps produce sturdy stems capable of supporting the large flower heads. Once established, plants are relatively drought tolerant, although regular watering during prolonged dry periods will encourage the best floral display.
As a deciduous variety, the foliage naturally dies back in autumn before fresh growth emerges in spring. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and cut back old foliage once it has completely died down. A winter mulch can provide additional protection in colder regions and help encourage vigorous regrowth the following season. Container-grown plants perform exceptionally well and are ideal for patios and terraces where the flowers can be appreciated at close range.
