Description
Agapanthus Skyscraper (PBR)
Agapanthus Skyscraper is an impressive semi-evergreen Agapanthus renowned for its exceptional height and large rounded heads of bright blue flowers. Each floret is highlighted by a distinctive dark blue midrib, creating a striking two-tone effect that adds colour and elegance to the summer garden. Growing up to 120cm tall, this outstanding variety is perfect for adding height, structure and architectural interest to borders and large containers.
Agapanthus Skyscraper Features
Throughout summer, Agapanthus Skyscraper produces large flower heads measuring up to 30cm across. Furthermore, the vibrant blue blooms are carried on strong upright stems above broad green strap-shaped foliage. As a result, this variety creates a dramatic focal point in sunny garden settings.
The impressive flower heads attract bees and other pollinating insects. Additionally, the long-lasting blooms make excellent cut flowers for indoor arrangements. Consequently, this variety offers both ornamental beauty and wildlife-friendly appeal.
Growing Agapanthus Skyscraper
For best results, plant Agapanthus Skyscraper in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. It performs particularly well in borders where its height can be fully appreciated. Moreover, it thrives in large patio containers, providing a spectacular display throughout the flowering season.
This semi-evergreen variety is hardy to approximately -10°C when grown in suitable conditions. However, winter protection may be beneficial in colder areas, especially for container-grown plants.
