The intense blue tones bring depth and contrast to planting schemes, making this variety an excellent choice for borders, patio containers and mixed perennial displays.
Growing to approximately 90–120cm in height, Agapanthus Delft Blue combines elegant beauty with reliable garden performance. The impressive flower heads stand proudly above the foliage, creating a striking architectural effect while attracting bees and other beneficial pollinators. Growing Agapanthus Delft Blue
Agapanthus Delft Blue thrives in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun encourages abundant flowering and helps produce strong stems capable of supporting the large flower heads. Once established, plants are relatively drought tolerant, although regular watering during prolonged dry periods will encourage the most impressive floral display.
Container-grown specimens perform exceptionally well and are ideal for patios and terraces where the vibrant flowers can be appreciated at close range. As a deciduous variety, the foliage naturally dies back in autumn before fresh growth emerges in spring. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and apply a winter mulch in colder regions to help protect the crown and encourage vigorous regrowth the following season.
