Description
Agapanthus Lissabon
Agapanthus Lissabon is a striking deciduous Agapanthus producing large rounded heads of rich violet-blue flowers above attractive clumps of green strap-shaped foliage. Flowering freely throughout summer, this elegant variety brings vibrant colour, height and architectural interest to borders, patio containers and mixed perennial planting schemes. Its beautiful blooms and reliable performance make it an excellent choice for creating long-lasting displays in sunny gardens.
Agapanthus Lissabon Features
Throughout the flowering season, Agapanthus Lissabon produces impressive clusters of vivid violet-blue flowers carried on sturdy upright stems. Furthermore, the richly coloured blooms rise gracefully above the foliage, creating a bold and eye-catching display. As a result, this variety provides exceptional visual impact whether planted individually or in groups.
The nectar-rich flowers attract bees and other pollinating insects throughout summer. Additionally, the long-lasting blooms make excellent cut flowers for indoor arrangements. Consequently, Agapanthus Lissabon offers both ornamental beauty and valuable wildlife benefits.
Growing Agapanthus Lissabon
For best results, plant Agapanthus Lissabon in a sunny position with fertile, moist but well-drained soil. It performs exceptionally well in borders, raised beds and decorative patio containers. Moreover, regular watering during dry periods will encourage healthy growth and abundant flowering.
As a deciduous variety, the foliage dies back naturally in autumn before fresh growth emerges in spring. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and tidy old foliage in late winter. Once established, this variety is easy to maintain and flowers reliably year after year.
