Description

Agapanthus inapertus Lilac Lullaby

Agapanthus inapertus Lilac Lullaby is a beautiful deciduous African Lily producing elegant lilac flowers with darker colouring at the base of each bloom. Held above clumps of lush green strap-like foliage, the graceful flowers are carried on sturdy stems reaching approximately 60cm in height. This UK-bred variety adds a refined touch to borders, patio containers and mixed perennial plantings.

Why Choose Agapanthus inapertus Lilac Lullaby?

This distinctive variety is prized for its attractive lilac flowers and compact growth habit. The darker tones at the base of each flower add depth and interest to the floral display, while the elegant flower form creates a softer, more natural appearance in the garden. Its manageable size makes it suitable for both smaller gardens and container growing.

Growing Agapanthus inapertus Lilac Lullaby

For best results, plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Regular watering during establishment will encourage strong root development and healthy growth. Once established, plants become increasingly drought tolerant while continuing to produce reliable summer displays. Good drainage is particularly important during winter months.

Perfect for Borders and Containers

The compact size and elegant flower colour make this variety ideal for patio pots, terrace planters and sunny borders. The soft lilac blooms combine beautifully with ornamental grasses, salvias, lavender and other sun-loving perennials, creating attractive and long-lasting summer displays.

Care and Maintenance

Remove spent flower stems after flowering to keep plants tidy and encourage vigorous growth. A spring feed will help promote healthy foliage and abundant blooms. With minimal maintenance, this hardy perennial will provide many years of reliable garden performance.
