Agapanthus Happy Blue is a compact deciduous African Lily producing beautiful rounded heads of soft light blue flowers throughout summer. Held on sturdy stems above neat clumps of green strap-like foliage, the elegant blooms create a striking display in borders, patio containers and mixed perennial plantings. Flowering from July to September, Agapanthus Happy Blue provides weeks of colour and is highly attractive to bees and other pollinating insects.
Growing to approximately 60–70cm in height, Agapanthus Happy Blue is ideal for smaller gardens where space is limited but reliable summer colour is desired. The graceful flower heads rise above the foliage, creating an architectural effect that combines beautifully with ornamental grasses, lavender and other sun-loving perennials. Growing Agapanthus Happy Blue
Agapanthus Happy Blue thrives in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. Regular watering during the growing season helps promote strong growth and abundant flowering, especially when grown in containers. Established plants are relatively drought tolerant and require little maintenance beyond removing faded flower stems and old foliage.
This attractive African Lily is particularly well suited to container growing, where its compact habit can be fully appreciated on patios, terraces and balconies.
