Agapanthus Clarence House – Deciduous African Lily
Agapanthus Clarence House is a stunning deciduous African Lily producing impressive rounded flower heads packed with rich dark violet-blue blooms. Held on sturdy upright stems above neat clumps of green strap-like foliage, the flowers create a dramatic display of colour and structure throughout the summer months. The deep violet-blue tones add depth and contrast to planting schemes, making this variety an excellent choice for sunny borders, containers and mixed perennial displays.
Growing to approximately 70–90cm in height, Agapanthus Clarence House combines reliable garden performance with exceptional ornamental value. The large flower heads rise proudly above the foliage, creating a bold architectural feature while attracting bees and other pollinating insects. Growing Agapanthus Clarence House
Agapanthus Clarence House thrives in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun encourages abundant flowering and enhances the intensity of the dark violet-blue blooms. Once established, plants are relatively drought tolerant, although regular watering during prolonged dry periods will encourage the best floral display.
Container-grown plants perform exceptionally well and are ideal for patios and terraces where the flowers can be admired at close range. As a deciduous variety, the foliage naturally dies back in autumn before fresh growth emerges in spring. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and apply a winter mulch in colder regions to help protect the crown and encourage vigorous regrowth the following season.
