Agapanthus Blue Ice – Evergreen African Lily

Agapanthus Blue Ice is a stunning evergreen African Lily prized for its elegant bi-coloured flowers and long flowering season. Large rounded flower heads are made up of pristine white blooms, each beautifully marked with an ice-blue flush at the base of the petals. The delicate colour contrast creates a fresh and sophisticated display that brightens borders, patio containers and mixed planting schemes throughout the summer months.

Growing to approximately 90–120cm in height, Agapanthus Blue Ice produces strong upright stems that rise above attractive clumps of evergreen strap-like foliage. Growing Agapanthus Blue Ice

Agapanthus Blue Ice thrives in a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun encourages abundant flowering and enhances the distinctive colouring of the blooms. Once established, plants are relatively drought tolerant, although regular watering during prolonged dry periods will encourage the best flowering performance.

Container-grown plants perform exceptionally well and benefit from being slightly root restricted, which often encourages more prolific flowering. As an evergreen variety, the attractive foliage remains throughout the year in milder areas. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and provide protection from severe winter frosts, particularly for plants grown in containers.
