Description
Agapanthus Starry Night®
Agapanthus Starry Night® is a compact deciduous agapanthus that produces striking dark blue flower heads above neat clumps of green strap-shaped foliage throughout summer. This attractive variety is ideal for borders, patio containers and smaller gardens. In addition, its long flowering period provides reliable colour when many other plants have finished blooming.
Why Choose Agapanthus Starry Night®?
One of the standout features of Agapanthus Starry Night® is its exceptionally deep blue flowers. As a result, it creates a dramatic display in both modern and traditional garden settings. The compact habit, reaching around 40cm in height, makes it particularly useful where space is limited. Furthermore, the flowers attract bees and other pollinators, helping to support garden wildlife.
Growing Agapanthus Starry Night®
For best results, plant Agapanthus Starry Night® in a sunny location with fertile, well-drained soil. During the first growing season, regular watering will help establish a strong root system. Once established, however, the plant becomes more tolerant of dry conditions. A balanced fertiliser applied in spring will also encourage healthy foliage and abundant blooms.
Agapanthus Starry Night® in the Garden
Whether planted in borders or containers, Agapanthus Starry Night® adds rich colour and structure to the garden. Meanwhile, the dark blue flower heads combine beautifully with ornamental grasses, salvias and other sun-loving perennials. Because of its compact size, it is particularly suitable for patios, courtyards and smaller planting schemes.
Caring for Agapanthus Starry Night®
Maintenance is simple and straightforward. Remove spent flower stems after blooming to keep plants looking tidy. In addition, clearing away old foliage in spring will encourage fresh new growth. With very little effort, Agapanthus Starry Night® will reward gardeners with a dependable summer display year after year.
