Description
Agapanthus Fluor
Agapanthus Fluor is a striking deciduous agapanthus producing large rounded heads of soft violet-blue flowers above clumps of attractive green strap-shaped foliage. Flowering throughout summer, this elegant variety provides excellent colour, height and architectural interest in sunny borders, patio containers and mixed perennial planting schemes. Reaching approximately 70–90cm in height when in flower, it creates an impressive display while maintaining a neat and manageable habit. The attractive blooms stand proudly on sturdy stems and are highly effective when planted in groups for maximum impact.
Why Choose Agapanthus Fluor?
The soft violet-blue flower heads bring a refreshing splash of colour to the summer garden and combine beautifully with ornamental grasses, salvias and other sun-loving perennials. As a result, Agapanthus Fluor works equally well in traditional cottage gardens and contemporary planting schemes. Furthermore, the flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, helping to support wildlife throughout the flowering season. The blooms also make excellent cut flowers and last well in floral arrangements. Agapanthus varieties are valued for their long flowering season and reliable garden performance.
Growing Agapanthus Fluor
For best results, plant Agapanthus Fluor in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. During the first growing season, regular watering will encourage strong root development and healthy growth. However, once established, plants become increasingly drought tolerant and require very little maintenance. In addition, applying a balanced fertiliser during spring will encourage vigorous growth and abundant flowering throughout summer. Full sun and free-draining conditions will produce the strongest floral display.
Perfect for Borders and Containers
Whether planted in mixed perennial borders or grown in decorative patio containers, this variety provides dependable summer colour and structure. Meanwhile, the upright flower stems add height and elegance without overwhelming neighbouring plants. Because of its manageable size, Agapanthus Fluor is equally suitable for smaller gardens and larger landscape plantings.
Care and Maintenance
Maintenance is straightforward and suitable for gardeners of all experience levels. Remove spent flower stems after flowering to keep plants looking tidy and encourage healthy growth. Additionally, dividing mature clumps every few years will help maintain vigour and flowering performance. With minimal attention, Agapanthus Fluor will provide many years of reliable garden colour and seasonal interest.
