Growing Agapanthus Duivenbrugge Blue
Agapanthus Duivenbrugge Blue thrives in a sunny position with fertile, well-drained soil. Full sun encourages abundant flowering and helps produce sturdy stems capable of supporting the large flower heads. Once established, plants are relatively drought tolerant, although regular watering during prolonged dry periods will encourage the best floral display. Well-drained soil is particularly important during winter months.
As a deciduous variety, the foliage naturally dies back in autumn before fresh growth emerges in spring. Remove spent flower stems after flowering and apply a winter mulch in colder regions to help protect the crown and encourage vigorous regrowth the following season. Container-grown plants perform exceptionally well and can be positioned on patios and terraces where the flowers can be appreciated at close range.
