Description
Hosta Love Pat
Hosta Love Pat is one of the finest blue-leaved hostas available, prized for its intensely blue foliage, deeply cupped leaves and exceptional garden performance. Forming a neat medium-sized mound, this award-winning variety produces thick, heavily textured leaves that retain their attractive blue colouring throughout much of the growing season. Its bold foliage and strong architectural form make Hosta Love Pat an outstanding choice for shaded borders, woodland gardens and patio containers.
The distinctive leaves are deeply puckered and heavily corrugated, giving the plant excellent texture and substance. As the season progresses, the foliage may gradually develop a blue-green tone while maintaining its attractive appearance. The thick leaves also provide improved resistance to slug damage compared with many thinner-leaved hosta varieties.
Plants leaves are cut back from August and will reappear late Spring.

Growing Hosta Love Pat
Hosta Love Pat thrives in moist, fertile, well-drained soil and performs best in partial to full shade. A sheltered position will help maintain the rich blue colouring for longer throughout the season. Regular watering during dry spells will encourage strong growth and keep the foliage looking its best. This variety gradually develops into a dense, attractive clump that improves with age.
Hosta Love Pat Care Tips
Apply a mulch of organic matter around the plant each spring to retain moisture and improve soil structure. Protect emerging shoots from slugs and snails early in the season.
