Description
Dierama Kilmurry White
Dierama Kilmurry White is a graceful evergreen perennial renowned for its elegant arching stems of pure white bell-shaped flowers that sway beautifully in the slightest breeze. Commonly known as Angel’s Fishing Rod, this stunning variety produces masses of pendulous blooms throughout summer above attractive clumps of slender grass-like foliage, creating a striking architectural feature in borders and naturalistic planting schemes.
Why Choose Dierama Kilmurry White?
This exceptional variety is prized for its pristine white flowers and graceful flowing habit. The long arching stems create movement and elegance within the garden, while the pure white blooms provide a refreshing contrast against surrounding plants. Its distinctive appearance makes it a superb focal point in both contemporary and cottage garden settings.
Growing Dierama Kilmurry White
For best results, plant in full sun in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Choose a permanent position, as mature dieramas dislike disturbance once established. Regular watering during dry periods will help encourage healthy growth and abundant flowering, particularly during the establishment period.
Perfect for Borders and Naturalistic Planting
The elegant arching stems and pure white flowers make this variety ideal for mixed borders, prairie-style gardens, gravel gardens and waterside planting. It combines beautifully with ornamental grasses, agapanthus, salvias and other summer-flowering perennials, creating a relaxed and sophisticated display.
Care and Maintenance
Dierama Kilmurry White requires very little maintenance once established. Remove damaged foliage in spring and avoid moving mature plants whenever possible. Applying a mulch in spring will help retain moisture and support healthy growth throughout the growing season.
