Description
Agapanthus Fireworks®
Agapanthus Fireworks® is one of the most eye-catching agapanthus varieties available, producing spectacular bi-coloured flower heads with deep violet-blue buds opening to white petals tipped and striped with rich blue. The large rounded blooms are carried on strong upright stems above attractive clumps of evergreen strap-shaped foliage, creating a dramatic display throughout summer. Reaching approximately 60–90cm in height, this award-winning variety brings exceptional colour, elegance and architectural interest to sunny borders, patio containers and contemporary garden designs.
Why Choose Agapanthus Fireworks®?
The unique two-tone flowers create a dazzling display unlike traditional blue or white agapanthus varieties. As a result, Agapanthus Fireworks® becomes an instant focal point wherever it is planted. Furthermore, the flowers are produced freely over a long period, providing weeks of colour throughout summer. The striking blooms are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, helping to support garden wildlife while enhancing the beauty of outdoor spaces.
Growing Agapanthus Fireworks®
For best results, plant Agapanthus Fireworks® in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil. During the first growing season, regular watering will help establish a strong root system and encourage vigorous growth. However, once established, plants become relatively drought tolerant and require very little maintenance. In addition, feeding with a balanced fertiliser during spring will help encourage abundant flowering and healthy foliage development.
Perfect for Borders and Containers
Whether planted in mixed perennial borders or grown in decorative patio containers, this variety provides outstanding summer colour and architectural structure. Meanwhile, the elegant flower stems add height without overwhelming neighbouring plants. Because of its compact to medium-sized habit, Agapanthus Fireworks® is equally suitable for smaller gardens, courtyard planting and larger landscape schemes.
Care and Maintenance
Maintenance is straightforward and suitable for gardeners of all experience levels. Remove spent flower stems once flowering has finished to keep plants looking tidy and encourage strong growth. Additionally, container-grown plants may benefit from some winter protection during prolonged periods of severe frost. With minimal attention, Agapanthus Fireworks® will provide many years of reliable flowering and garden performance.
