This is a lovely herbaceous perennial for the back of the border lovely large blooms are very attractive to butterflies. Rich purple flowers on black stems in mid summer to autumn. Lance shaped, toothed, green leaves on cane-like, dark burgundy stems. Grows to 1.5m. Does not need staking it is strong enough to support itself.
